استزراع بحري

التعريف

تربية الكائنات البحرية أو البرمائية وإدارتها واستغلالها في البحر في أماكن معدة خصيصاً للتربية، مثل الأقفاص والحظائر والخطوط الطويلة. ويشير الاستزراع البحري في إحصائيات منظمة الأغذية والزراعة إلى استزراع المنتج النهائي في مياه البحر حتى وإن استزرعت المراحل المبكرة من دورة حياة الكائنات المائية المعنية في الماء المعتدل الملوحة أو المياه العذبة أو حتى في حال تم اصطيادها في البيئة البرية. ويشمل هذا التعريف الأسماك المستزرعة التي تُطلق في البيئة البحرية في المصايد القائمة على الاستزراع البحري والأوزان الإضافية للكائنات التي يتم اصطيادها طبيعياً من خلال أنشطة الاستزراع المائي الطبيعية.

Culture of all aquatic organisms in the coastal and offshore areas. Some experts define mariculture as the rearing of animals and plants in the ocean only (European Environmental Agency. http://www.glossary.eea.europa.eu/ EEA Glossary/M/Mariculture. Accessed on 23/01/2010). Others describe it as a segment of aquaculture that takes place in brackish and marine environments including outside the ocean. Thus, broadly speaking, mariculture includes coastal aquaculture and offshore aquaculture.

Cultivation, management and harvesting of marine organisms in their natural habitat or in specially constructed rearing units, e.g. ponds, cages, pens, enclosures or tanks. For the purpose of FAO statistics, mariculture refers to cultivation of the end product in seawater even though earlier stages in the life cycle of the concerned aquatic organisms may be cultured in brackish or freshwater or captured from the wild. This definition includes farmed fish released in the marine environment for mariculture-based capture fisheries and the weight increments gained by the wild-caught organisms through capture-based aquaculture activities.

Definición

Cultivo, gestión y recolección de organismos marinos o anfídromos en el mar dentro de instalaciones construidas al efecto, como jaulas, corrales y palangres. A efectos de las estadísticas de la FAO, la maricultura es el cultivo del producto final en el agua marina aunque las fases anteriores en el ciclo vital de los organismos acuáticos de que se trate puedan cultivarse en agua salobre o dulce o capturarse en el medio natural. La definición comprende los peces cultivados que se liberan en el medio marino para las pesquerías de captura basadas en la maricultura y los engordes de organismos capturados en el medio natural a través de actividades de la acuicultura basada en la captura.
